Service means the My Private Library website, applications, APIs, recommendation engine, and related services.

User, you, and your refer to the individual using the Service.

Our Commitment to Readers

A personal library reflects a lifetime of learning and curiosity. My Private Library exists to help readers organize, discover, and enjoy books while respecting their privacy and ownership of their collections.

1. Beta Service

The Service is currently offered as a public beta. Features may change, improve, or be removed without notice. Bugs, interruptions, and data inconsistencies may occur.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining your account credentials and all activity under your account.

4. Ownership of Your Library

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant MPL a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, back up, display, and transmit your content solely to operate and improve the Service.

5. User Content

You are responsible for content you submit and represent that you have the rights necessary to submit it.

6. Personalized Recommendations

Recommendations are generated from information you choose to provide and are intended as suggestions only.

7. Artificial Intelligence

Certain features may use AI. AI-generated information may contain inaccuracies and should be independently evaluated.

8. Book Information

Book metadata may come from third-party sources. We do not guarantee its completeness or accuracy.

9. Affiliate Relationships

We may receive commissions from qualifying purchases. Affiliate relationships do not influence recommendation rankings or eligibility.

10. Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the Service, violate laws, interfere with operations, attempt unauthorized access, or upload malicious content.

11. Intellectual Property

Except for user content, all intellectual property associated with the Service belongs to My Private Library or its licensors.

12. Feedback

You grant MPL permission to use voluntary feedback to improve the Service without compensation.

13. Future Features

Descriptions of planned features are informational only and are not contractual promises.

14. Third-Party Services

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies.

15. Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

16. Deleting Your Account

You may request deletion of your account. Certain backup, legal, fraud prevention, or anonymized records may be retained.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

18. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MPL'S LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DURING THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS.

19. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify MPL for claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

20. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.

21. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

22. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement regarding the Service.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho.
